Vic St (2011-2012) explores the transient and mutable aspects of urban places and spaces. The project focused on the north end of Victoria Street in downtown Hamilton Kirikiriroa – North Island Aotearoa New Zealand. I was interested in the people and ended up doing a number of portraits of strangers that I met through casual encounters and exchanges, and for those I am grateful. This part of Victoria Street has something peculiar. Many shops in the area closed and the ‘old’ was still trying to make room for the ‘new’ that was yet to come.
